Andrea Scott
Registered Social Worker (RSW, BISW), Addictions & Mental Health Therapist
Andrea Scott is a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She has completed her Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work (BISW) and is currently completing her Master of Social Work at Laurentian University. Andrea brings extensive experience supporting individuals navigating addictions, mental health challenges, complex trauma, grief, and life transitions.
Andrea has worked across mental health units for the hospital in Grey and Bruce counties, including the Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) program, Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT), community outreach (food banks), and mobile Indigenous-led services in rural and remote areas, including First Nations communities. She has provided frontline support for individuals living with substance misuse, withdrawal, suicide risk, chronic pain, and severe psychological distress. Her work also includes supporting those with mental health disorders, crisis de-escalation, case management, housing instability, and complex, multi-agency collaboration.
Andrea is an anti-colonial, wholistic practitioner who honours the full person—considering their family, community, nation, and how belonging, purpose, hope, and meaning are woven into their lives. While her focus always begins where the client wishes to start, Andrea is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART Basic), Narrative Therapy, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, and Single Session Therapy. Her practice is trauma-informed and collaborative. Andrea is committed to walking alongside clients on their unique healing journeys, offering person-centred, strengths-based care that upholds autonomy, resilience, and self-determination.
With strong skills in virtual service delivery, Andrea provides accessible, flexible support to meet clients where they are. Her compassionate, steady approach offers a space to explore challenges, build coping strategies, and forge meaningful pathways forward. Andrea works closely with her clients to problem-solve complex situations, always bringing a steady, persistent commitment to community well-being—one person at a time. She believes our journeys are not always clear and that it takes love, not scolding, to help forge new directions.
When she’s not working, Andrea is happily counting chickens and doing chicken math. She enjoys spending time with her children, often being recruited into new Xbox games, Magic: The Gathering battles, or Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. When she finds time for herself, Andrea loves plunging into the icy waters of Georgian Bay and is most at home when writing or painting in oils.
